Samsung Galaxy S4 release date
Samsung sent invitationsUnpacked 2013 event on Feb. 25. Don't worry if you were not lucky enough to score one. Samsung will be post up an online live stream of the event.
And for New Yorkers, they can watch the live streaming in Times Square.
Galaxy S4 specs
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is said to have a slighter larger display, measuring nearly 5 inches at 4.99 inches. Users will be able to use the S4 to watch videos and browse the web on a Full HD SoLux Display a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Samsung Galaxy S3 had a 4.8-inch Supre AMOLED display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. These may help Samsung compete with Apples 'retina' display on its iPhone 5.
Faster is always better when it comes to a smartphone's chipset. Samsung will update its Galaxy S line by giving the Samsung Galaxy S4 a new Exynos 5 Oct a CPU, which has eight cores. That beats out the S3's quad-core Exynos 4 processor.
Apple has dominated when it comes to phone cameras but the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have a 13-megapixel camera. The S4 predecessor only had an 8-megapixel camera. Samsung will also give the camera a feature, reportedly called "Samsung Orb," to create 360-degree photos, a feature similar to the iPhone's "Panorama" and Google's "Photosphere."
Coming on the heels of another Android phone, the Blackberry Z10, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to have a similar price tag as the S3. For two-year contracts, the Galaxy S4 is expected to cost around $199 for 16 GB and $249 for 32 GB. AT&T recently announced that Blackberry Z10 will be priced $199.99 for a two-year contract on March 22.
5. Release Date
While the Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S4 on Thursday, it may not release the highly-anticipated smartphone for up to several week. If we can take a cue from the Galaxy S3's launch, Samsung unveiled the device on May 3 but didn't release the smartphone until May 28 in Europe and until June 21 in the United States.
It is possible that the Samsung Galaxy S4 can outsell the S3, which sold 40 million units through 296 carriers in 145 countries.
