When science and fantasy mix on the small screen, it creates a heady cocktail that addicts can't get enough of. While popular networks already have many sci-fi TV shows to keep fans hooked, here are some new TV shows in science and fantasy to look forward to in 2015:

12 Monkeys: Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt saved humanity from a devastating disease when Willis time traveled from 2043 in the movie. Time-travelling buffs who loved this sci-fi movie may want to watch out for "12 Monkeys", a TV show that premiered on Syfy in January. It is currently on air and stars Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull and Noah Bean.

Last Man on Earth: FOX's "Last Man on Earth" tells the story of the only man still alive on Planet Earth. This post-apocalyptic comedy stars Will Forte and premiers on March 1, 2015 at 9 p.m. It will be interesting to see how the protagonist, Phil Miller, keeps viewers laughing in a world devoid of fellow humans.

iZombie: CW premiers "iZombie" on March 17, 2015 at 9 p.m. The show's plot revolves around a medical student who dies and comes back as a zombie and morgue attendant. The series is based on the DC comic book series of the same name. The synopsis of the series also points out that when the former medical student eats parts of the dead, the protagonist acquires their memories which helps her solve mysteries. A zombie that can solve crime? It may be worth a watch.

Marvel's Agent Carter: Hayley Atwell plays Peggy Carter as she balances her role at the Strategic Scientific Reserve, which is a precursor to S.H.I.E.L.D, and her secret job in assisting Howard Stark. With a strong female character and a Marvel Cinematic Universe angle, this eight-episode series is definitely worth a watch. It is currently airing on ABC.
