For the 2015 SEMA Show, Kia has given the all-new 2016 Optima sedan a new look. The South Korean automaker will be showcasing the A1A Optima, a drop-top version of the Optima sedan.

According to Kia's press release, "The A1A Optima takes inspiration from the iconic Florida A1A highway by letting the sunshine in and taking the all-new 2016 Optima in a new direction."

The A1A Optima seeks to add a touch of whimsy and fun while at the same time, complementing the roadster style of the car. The convertible comes in a custom electric teal blue exterior paint that also makes it stand out from the crowd. The A1A Optima also features chrome accents all throughout its exteriors.

The A1A Optima features a sliced top, a chopped and shortened windshield and rear-hinged doors. Since the A1A Optima lacks a roof and features "suicide doors," Kia made sure to give the convertible reinforced steel tubing to retain the car's rigid structure and ultimately, offer protection for its passengers.

Kia's convertible also feature 20-inch chrome wheels that are bolted to a Ksport coil-over suspension. The coil-over suspension also gives the A1A Optima a lower ride height.

The A1A Optima is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine seen on the 2016 Optima, however, the convertible has been given a high-performance exhaust system. The engine produces 245 horsepower.

Inside the car, the four-seater convertible features soft butter-cream leather bucket seats. The rear bucket seats are separated by extended armrests and a custom center console.

Kia Motors America will be unveiling the A1A Optima convertible during its press conference today, Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. at the SEMA Show. Kia will be at booth #10809.

While the A1A Optima convertible isn't expected to go into production any time soon, Kia has announced that it is planning to expand its Optima lineup to include a station wagon and plug-in hybrid.
