The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was first unveiled in May. Since then, Chevrolet has been releasing continuous updates regarding the sixth-generation muscle car that is expected to arrive at dealers later this year.

The all-new Chevrolet Camaro gets a leaner and more athletic design and features a fastback profile. The front fascia features functional vents on the hood, LED lighting elements and brake-cooling ducts beside the grille. The front fenders also feature the return of the tri-bar Camaro badge.

The Camaro's tighter design is due to General Motors' Alpha modular platform. The muscle car was produced using the latest in manufacturing and production technology. By using the latest materials, the 2016 Camaro has a chassis that is 28 percent stiffer.

The Camaro also has smaller dimensions. The wheelbase has been toned down by 1.6 inches. The car is also 2.3 inches shorter, 0.8 inch narrower and 1.1 inches shorter. The result is a lighter car, 223 pounds lighter than its predecessor.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro also comes with three engine versions that can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The standard model ($26,695) is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. When paired with a six-speed manual transmission, it produces 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

For $28,190, drivers get a Camaro powered by a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V-6 direct-injected engine that produces 335 horsepower and 284 lb.-ft. of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds when paired with the automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, it achieves the feat in 5.2 seconds.

The top-tier SS model ($37,295) is powered by a 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 engine that produces with 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds.

The reduction in weight has also made the Camaro's engine more fuel-efficient. According to Chevrolet, the four-cylinder engine gets 30 mpg. The new platform has also given the Camaro better handling and driving experience.

The cabin also features improved interiors but still maintains its muscle car persona. Some of the new features include the HD color display and an ambient lighting system.
