With only about a month to go until its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, car enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the 2017 Aston Martin DB11.

Aston Martin confirmed the arrival of the DB11 nameplate last September 2015. It will be the much-awaited successor to the impressive DB9 grand tourer and will be the first vehicle released under the British automaker's Second Century Plan.

"Not only is it a sign of our intention to continue the long line of iconic sports cars that bear the 'DB' moniker – the very bloodline of our brand – but it also shows the world our ambitious plan in action. The coming years will see Aston Martin transform not only its entire range of models but also its scale and global presence, and the new DB11 will be central to that success," said Aston Martin CEO Dr. Andy Palmer.

The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 will be built on the all-new VH5 platform with an architecture that will enable Aston Martin's vehicles to stand out in terms of design, performance and technology.

Aston Martin has also released a short teaser previewing the DB11's new powertrain. The DB11 will be powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V-12 engine that is expected to unleash up to 600 horsepower. The upcoming sports car is also expected to come with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG and delivers up to 500 horsepower.

The engine will be mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and will have a rear-wheel drive system.

In terms of design, Aston Martin has not released any official images. However, it will likely retain Aston Martin's traditional design language. It will also be inspired by the DB10, which was notably James Bond's vehicle of choice in "Spectre."

Just recently, spy shots were released by Dutch website AutoJunk. These unofficial images give a glimpse of the sports car's design. Interior spy shots also preview a cabin layout similar to Mercedes-Benz models, which is not surprising given the partnership between the two companies. Aston Martin is also working with Chinese company Letv in developing a new and advanced infotainment system.

To see the Aston Martin DB11 unveiled, be sure to check out the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, taking place from March 3 to 13, 2016.
