Chevrolet has just introduced the 2017 Trax. For the new model year, Chevrolet's small SUV has been given a new look, more premium features and the latest connectivity options.

"In the fastest-growing segment, Chevrolet Trax's momentum is sure to continue with great design enhancements, premium details, and the latest technologies," said Steve Majoros, director for marketing, Chevrolet Cars and Crossovers.

According to the press release, the Chevrolet Trax has become one of the second best-selling small SUV in America with over 63,303 in sales last year. With the Trax's new features and design, Chevrolet is hoping to attract even more customers in 2016.

The 2017 Chevrolet Trax features a fresh, sporty and contemporary design. It comes with a newly designed front fascia similar to Chevrolet's other new models like the Malibu, Cruze and Volt. The updated Trax comes with Chevrolet's dual-port grille, sleek headlights and dual taillamps.

The Trax SUV will be offered in three trims – LS, LT and Premier.

Inside, the cabin comes with an expressive and premium dual-cockpit design. The interiors sport a redesigned center instrument panel and a Galvano chrome trim. Premier models also come with leatherette seating and a matching contrast-color instrument panel. The instrument cluster has been given a new gauge display with an analog speedometer, tachometer and standard driver information.

Chevrolet has also equipped the small SUV with a new 7-inch diagonal infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. With 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, the Trax offers its passengers seamless connection to smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Available safety features include side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert and lane departure warning. Chevrolet is also offering additional crash-avoidance technologies including a standard rear view camera.

The 2017 Chevrolet Trax is powered by the same 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ecotec engine mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque.

The 2017 Chevrolet Trax will go on sale starting Fall 2016. Pricing and other technical information will be announced closer to its launch date.
