2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport news: Hyundai refreshes crossover models with new design and more tech

Hyundai has recently unveiled the 2017 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport. The mid-size crossovers have been given a vast number of improvements for the new model year including a fresh new exterior design, the latest technologies and new drive modes.

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport crossovers feature a redesigned front fascia. The front grille now comes with a brushed finish and the headlights have been redesigned. Both crossovers come standard with LED daytime running lights, while the three-row Santa Fe also adds LED fog lights. Hyundai has also given the Santa Fe newly designed rocker panel trims and alloy wheels. At the rear, the Santa Fe models are equipped with new taillights and a new dual-exhaust system design.

Customers can also purchase the 2017 Santa Fe in a new Nightfall Blue color. The 2017 Santa Fe Sport, on the other hand, can be purchased with the new Storm Blue color.

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport now come standard with a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto compatibility and a 5-inch LCD display audio system. The cabin also features a redesigned center stack and a matte-finish interior woodgrain or leather finish. Optional features include the Infinity premium audio system and adjustable seats.

Safety features include a rearview camera, smart cruise control, lane departure warning, electronic parking brake system and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport comes with two powertrain options – the 2.4-liter four-cylinder direct-injected engine that delivers 185 horsepower and the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 240 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 2017 Santa Fe is powered by the 3.3-liter Lambda II V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower.

For the new model year, the engines have been given new Drive Mode settings – Sport, Eco and Normal.

The 2017 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport crossovers come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission. It can be availed either as a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive. Seating capacity can also be configured for five, six or seven passengers.

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport models are currently on their way to dealers. Base pricing for the 2017 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport are $30,800 and $25,350, respectively.
