Nissan has finally unveiled the 2017 Armada full-size SUV at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. The all-new second-generation Armada comes with a fresh, new design, comfortable interiors and an enhanced powertrain. Its arrival also signals the completion of Nissan's SUV and Crossover lineup transformation.

"We're particularly proud that with this new Armada, we're setting a new standard in class, offering safety and security features usually reserved for much higher priced luxury sedans or premium SUVs," said Phil O'Connor, Director and Chief Marketing Manager for Nissan North America.

The full-size SUV was built based on the Nissan Patrol. It comes with an eight-passenger configuration and can have up to 8,500 pounds of towing capacity. It will be offered in three trims – SV, SL and Platinum. The Armada will also be offered in two-wheel and four-wheel drive systems.

The 2017 Nissan Armada comes with redesigned exteriors. It builds upon the previous generation's athletic nature but making it more aggressive and contemporary. New design features include the bold V-motion front grille, LED low-beam headlights, LED daytime running lights and rear LED taillights.

Meanwhile, the cabin has been designed to be quiet, spacious and comfortable. The windshield and front side windows have been equipped with acoustic glass and the cabin was made with sound absorption materials.

The all-new Armada comes standard with Nissan Navigation with NavTraffic and NavWeather, an 8-inch color display, a 13-speaker Bose audio system and heated front seats.

Aside from cosmetic changes, Nissan's full-size SUV was also enhanced to deliver more power.

The 2017 Nissan Armada is powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine mated with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain delivers 390 horsepower, 73 more horsepower than its predecessor. The engine has also been engineered with Direct Injection Gas and Variable Valve Event & Lift systems.

The latest and advanced safety features include Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Intervention, Distance Control Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Backup Collision Intervention and the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection

The 2017 Nissan Armada is currently on display at the Chicago Auto Show from Feb.13 to Feb. 21. It will go on sale by Summer 2016. More details including pricing will be announced at a later date.
