The 2017 Lincoln MKZ was unveiled featuring a new look and more power. The mid-cycle update of the luxury sedan was revealed during the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

"Our customers are looking for three attributes in a luxury midsize sedan – technologies that ease their everyday experience, a beautiful design that is crafted with attention to detail and a vehicle with impressive power that makes it a pleasure to drive. The new Lincoln MKZ elevates all of these attributes – and many more – to create a compelling entry in this large and highly competitive portion of the luxury market," said Kumar Galhotra, president of Lincoln.

The new Lincoln MKZ bears a classy and distinctive design. It has sleek and elegant lines throughout its body. The front fascia looks strong but not overly aggressive. The front end features the all-new one-piece Lincoln signature grille that can also be seen in the Lincoln Continental concept vehicle. The car also comes with adaptive LED headlights and a revised bumper for a wider stance.

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ comes with an all-new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque for the all-wheel drive. This makes the MKZ the most powerful Lincoln ever.

The 3.0-liter engine produces 345 horsepower as a front-wheel-drive. There are also two other powertrain options – a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 245 horsepower, and a hybrid version.

The optional Driver's Pack adds a torque-vectoring rear differential, 19-inch wheels, ebony-painted calipers, light magnetic-painted grille, ebony interiors with carbon fiber appliques, customizable seats and aluminum pedal covers.

The Lincoln MKZ also comes with updated interiors. There are three Lincoln Black Label interior trims to be offered – Chalet, Vineyard and Thoroughbred. These three trims come with design consultation, a retractable panoramic glass roof and Revel Ultima audio speakers.

The driver-focused cabin comes with a revised center console with an aluminum trim, comfortable seats and high-quality materials including a Wollsdorf-leather-wrapped steering wheel and a Harman Kardon sound system.

High-tech driver aids include adaptive cruise control with stop and go, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist and enhanced parking assist. The MKZ sedan will also come with the MyLincoln Mobile app similar to the Ford Sync Connect app that was announced with the 2017 Ford Escape.

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ will go on sale by spring 2016. Pricing information will be revealed closer to its official launch.
