Acer Chromebook C910 release date: fast and powerful 15-inch Chromebook coming soon

Acer has come up with an updated version of its education-focused Chromebook C910 with a fifth-generation Intel Core i5 processor to deliver class-leading power, making it the world's fastest commercial Chromebook, according to the company.

Acer had released the C910 15.6-inch Chromebook for the education market just this year featuring a sturdy construction designed to withstand the rough handling that laptops usually suffer in schools. Acer's C910 Chromebook features a reinforced lid that can take the daily damage, with the ability to withstand up to 60kg of pressure and corners that can withstand drops from 45cm, accompanied by reinforced hinges for increased durability

It has a 15.6-inch display available in full HD IPS (1920×1080 resolution) panel as well as HD display (1366×768 resolution), with both featuring anti-glare properties to reduce eyestrain. The C910 Chromebook weighs just 4.85 pounds, measures 393x256x24.2mm and has a battery life of up to eight hours. The laptop houses 4GB of RAM, 32GB of SSD storage, a USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port, and allows users to connect on-the-go through 802.11AC Wi-Fi with MIMO technology, as well as connect peripherals over Bluetooth 4.0

The new Acer C910 Chromebook, model number C910-41M1, now comes with a more powerful fifth generation Intel Core i5 processor, but retains the durability and other features from the previous version. The fifth generation Intel Core i5 processor is expected to deliver a heightened performance and makes the new C910 the world's fastest commercial Chromebook, according to the company.

The new Acer C910 will be available in the U.S. market at the beginning of April for $499.99. The company has confirmed that it will continue to sell other members of the C910 family, including models with the less powerful Intel Celeron and Intel Core i3 processors.
