At an event held in April in New York City, Acer had showed off a handful of devices coming to the U.S. for the very first time, including a new phone called the Acer Liquid X2, which is a combination of the company's first phablet and its first phone with three SIM card slots. Acer had not revealed the pricing and availability details of the Acer Liquid Z2 for the U.S. market, but had confirmed that the smartphone would first arrive in Asia starting August. It now seems that the Acer Liquid X2 could be accompanied by the Acer Liquid Z630, a mid-range smartphone whose prototype has been spotted in a benchmark database, revealing its hardware and other key specifications.

According to the specifications of the Acer Liquid Z630 listed on the benchmarking website, the mid-ranger features a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, paired with a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. Acer's mid-range smartphone offers 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot. Acer's upcoming smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording capabilities, as well as an impressive 8-megapixel front shooter for taking state-of-the-art selfies and videos.

Acer Liquid Z630 runs Google's latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and provides 4G LTE support, as well as other connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS. Acer has not confirmed the Liquid Z630 or provided any details about the smartphone's pricing and release date, though considering the device's mid-range specifications, the handset is likely to be sold at an affordable price.
