David Bowie, one of the most influential musicians of his time, sent the world into mourning with his death at the age of 69 after 18 months of battling with cancer.

Besides his art, the singer-songwriter left behind his wife Iman and two children, Duncan Jones and Alexandria Zahra Jones.

Duncan Zowie Haywood Jones, simply known as Duncan Jones, has grown up into an award-winning film director, producer and screenwriter. At the age of 44, he had already won a BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer in 2010 for his first feature film, "Moon." The same film had earned him a British Independent Film Award for Best British Independent Film, a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, a British Independent Film Award Douglas Hickox Award (Directorial Debut), and The Edinburgh International Film Festival Michael Powell Award for Best New British Feature Film.

Duncan is David Bowie's son with ex-wife Angela "Angie" Bowie. He gained custody of his son after his divorce with Angie in 1980, when Duncan was just at 9 years old.

Meanwhile, Alexandria Zahra Jones, fondly called "Lexi," is David Bowie's daughter with fashion supermodel, Iman. She has often been referred to as the couple's "miracle baby," because she was conceived at the moment when her parents had given up all hope. Iman had been trying IVF treatment for seven years but without any success. They were about to adopt a child when she found out she was pregnant..

In their interview with Hello! magazine in 2000, when Lexi was merely 17 days old, Iman expressed her happiness for the arrival of their baby. She confessed, "We've always been very close, but if it's possible we've been drawn even closer. There's a joy or a contentment that's almost palpable to both of us. Overnight, our lives have been enriched beyond belief."

At the tender age of 15, Alexandria Jones has to deal with an unbearable loss. To the world, David Bowie is an icon, but to Lexi, he is a dad whom she will never get the chance to see again.
