These days, choosing a mobile device is more about digital platforms, native apps and even appeals of digital assistants, and not just mere device specs and designs. If the rumors about Amazon's first smartphone is true, CEO and founder of Amazon.com would want to draw in as many users as possible - and one of the factors that can make it happen is to approach the market with an Amazon Prime Data plan.

The alleged Amazon Prime Data will include free streaming of movies, TV shows and music. It is more or less similar to the Sponsored Data plan of AT&T.

According to BGR, specs of the Amazon fire phone include a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 4.7-inch 720p display and six cameras with 13 MP real shooter and 12MP front-facing one for video chats. The rest of the 4 cameras are mounted in each corner on the front of the device to be able to create a 3D-effect interface. These low powered infra-red cameras will be used to track a user's face, head movements and do the adjustment accordingly, altering the perspective of the 3D User Interface visuals.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Amazon will be debuting its Kindle Fire handset in June. Similar to its Kindle Fire Tablets, the smartphone features Android OS similar to the version that powers Amazon's tablets. However, sources suggest that the official launch event will occur within the next 2-3 months. Amazon is expected to debut its first smartphone between May and July with the phone to become available for consumers a shortly after its launch.

One source says Amazon is also working to recruit big outside developers in an effort to have a number of key third party apps available at launch and take advantage of the phone's 3D interface. Amazon will take a set of APIs available to third parties and it will also assist them with development in other ways.
