Only two episodes in, and 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' is already giving Halloween-esque scares in the land of television. Luckily for horror lovers, the third episode will be even scarier as it features the legend of Edward Mordrake.

According to the third episode's official synopsis, the American Horror Story freaks are hesitant on performing a show on Halloween in fear of summoning Mordrake's spirit.

According to legends, Edward Mordrake lived during the 19th century and suffered a condition known as diprosopus. Diprosopus is a rare condition that duplicates certain parts of the face to the head, and Mordrake claims that his "demon face" whispers bad things to him at night, causing him to do horrific things.

The legend also states that doctors during his time refused to perform surgeries on Mordrake, causing him to commit suicide at age 23.

It is debatable whether Mordrake was a fictional figure or if he actually walked on earth, and American Horror Story: Freak Show will give its own take on reliving the legend.

'Hunger Games' star Wes Bentley will play Mordrake in the next episode and is said to have tormented Kathy Bates' character, Ethel, in the past. Mordrake will appear in the show holding a grudge, whether towards Ethel or one of the other freaks.

Emma Roberts will also make her American Horror Story: Freak Show debut in episode 3 as fortune teller and con artist, Maggie.
