Fans of the popular horror anthology television series "American Horror Story" have been waiting to "check-in" to its fifth season ever since it was announced. But since it will be months before "Hotel"--the title of the fifth season--comes out, executive producer Ryan Murphy satisfies anxious fans with some updates.

News that lead star Jessica Lange will not be returning for "American Horror Story: Hotel" may have devastated some fans, but news that new actors and actresses are joining the cast, including Matt Bomer, Max Greenfield, Cheyenne Jackson, Finn Wittrock, and singer Lady Gaga, was a welcome change. As the new season gets ready for filming, executive producer Ryan Murphy spills more tidbit for fans to enjoy.

As the title suggests, "American Horror Story: Hotel" will be set in a hotel and based mostly on hotel horror movies and horror tropes. It will have the same "primal" feel as the first American Horror Story, "Murder House."

As Murphy explains to Deadline, "'Murder House' I thought was a very primal season because everybody's great fear is about the bogeyman under the bed in their house, and this feels similar to me in that when you check into a hotel, there are certain things beyond your control. Other people have keys to your room; they can come in there. You're not exactly safe, it's a very unsettling idea."

Murphy also confirms that, unlike the previous season, season five of AHS will not have any singing written into it. And with Lange out, the male cast will get as big a role as the female cast. Murphy says, this season will be a "true ensemble." In addition, both Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, who have always played protagonists on the show, will have more villainous tone into their characters. Another cast update is that Denis O'Hare's contract is already being finalized.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" will premiere on the FX channel this October.
