American Horror Story news: Jessica Lange still open to season 5

FX's "American Horror Story" (AHS) has taken the world by storm, with gruesome tales, heartless murderers, frightening ghosts, scheming witches, horrifying freaks and insane people. While many love the mini-series, enthusiasts of the show are wondering if its lead actress, Jessica Lange, who has played a lead role in all except the first season, will make a comeback in season five.

Hypable reveals the Jessica Lange may come back the next season, although it isn't yet a definite yes. Viewers may remember that the critically-acclaimed actress was sure she wouldn't return for a fifth season at the end of season's four "Coven". Fortunately, in a recent interview, she revealed that her decision has changed from a definite no to a maybe.

She reportedly said, "You know, I told him that we would sit down and have a long conversation when this was over. In a way this character is so great, I don't know how you top Elsa Mars. I really — in deference to Ryan, who I love dearly and who I respect beyond — I have no idea at this point." So, it is all up to Ryan Murphy, creator of the hit miniseries, to pitch a compelling story to Lange so that she stays on the show.

Fans view Lange as the face of AHS as her characters have been an essential component of the series. Her departure would surely hit viewers hard as she brings a lot to the series. Jessica Lange even provides valuable inputs on the set, especially in areas of script and direction.

Unreality TV exposed that season five of the anthology will see a drastic change and revamp. Although past seasons have been radically different from each other, this season is touted to be the most different. Rumor mills are abuzz with what will be the theme of season five now that four is coming to a close. Murphy professed that so far, nobody has come close to guessing the real theme.
