'American Horror Story: Roanoke' episode 7 spoilers and updates: Ryan Murphy says 'Roanoke' a commentary on reality TV; who will be killed off next?

"American Horror Story: Roanoke" channeled "Inception" and came out with its most amazing and surprising twist yet.

Fans appear to be relishing "American Horror Story's" sixth season, especially the twist that was introduced in the previous episode. In that chapter, TV producer Sidney (Cheyenne Jackson) was able to get his new project, "Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell," green lighted. The new series has Shelby (Lily Rabe), Matt (Andre Holland), Lee (Adina Porter), and the actors who portrayed them return to the house during the blood moon. It was later revealed that the series was never aired as only one survived those three days.

The concept was introduced to up the stakes in the season, something that wasn't felt earlier since people knew Matt and Shelby survived. But as series creator Ryan Murphy puts it, now "everybody's in the house and they all think it's fun and games, and then we are told that every single one of them dies except one person."

Murphy also told E! Online that the upcoming episodes will slowly reveal who the survivor was and teased that the characters might do something as payback against the network that endangered them.

"So it kind of was and is a commentary on social reality television because I do feel like that is the next level where something really bad is, somebody's going to die for the sake of real TV," Murphy expounded.

The trailer for the upcoming episode, "Chapter 7," certainly teases what some networks might do for ratings. The clip starts with Dominic (Cuba Gooding Jr.) talking about what he likes about reality TV. There's also a scene showing the real Lee, the fake Lee (Angela Bassett), and fake Shelby (Sarah Paulson) all out in the woods, panicking and with their phones out to capture what's happening. The real Lee tells Monet that what she, Matt, and Shelby experienced in the house was real and that it would only get worse. They're later seen in the basement, running away from someone. It's all captured on film but might have just been organized by Sidney. The clip ends with the smarmy producer looking excited at the footage he has filmed and basically tells the camera that the viewers would love it.

Episode 7 of "American Horror Story: Roanoke" will be aired on Oct. 26 at 10 p.m.
