"American Horror Story" (AHS) fans were saddened by the fact that many cast members may not return in season five, including academy award winner actress Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson.

But fans of the bone-chilling FX anthology series received a shocking news: Lady Gaga would be part of the main cast of "American Horror Story" and the theme is a hotel. Gaga is the first celebrity to star as a series regular as, in the past, celebrities like Steve Nicks only made appearances as guest stars.

Gaga announced the theme on Wednesday by tweeting, "Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel" with a video. Additionally, season five will take place in present day since AHS has a pattern of alternating between past and present. "Freakshow" was set in the 1950s so it makes sense that the timeline for the upcoming season shifts to present day. Moreover, Ryan Murphy confirmed to TVLine that the show will be set in the present.

Speculations are cropping up regarding which hotel will be part of the season. Huffington Post elaborated on a fan-theory that the hotel may be "The Garden Of Allah" since Stanley, the dubious Hollywood agent hired by Elsa, said "I do know people in Los Angeles. My cousin works at the Garden of Allah" before being beaten by the freaks. The hotel also has a glamorous past and history. The inherent problem with this fan-theory is that the hotel should be there in the present, but since it isn't, this fan-theory seems highly unlikely.

Eventbrite notes that filming for season five will commence in July and the season will premiere during Halloween, as is tradition for the FX anthology series. Once shooting begins, fans will know more about "American Horror Story: Hotel". Cast members will be finalized soon, so fans can expect news from the casting front.
