A trailer has been launched for the anticipated movie adaptation of the plot in Chris Kyle's autobiography, 'American Sniper,' and it shows actor Bradley Cooper looking through a sniper gun, contemplating if he should shoot a kid with a grenade. The movie release date is scheduled for limited viewing on Christmas Day with a final launch in mid-January.

In the trailer, Cooper is seen with a fuller physique, a beard, and uses a southern accent since Kyle hails from Odessa, Texas.

Cooper plays the famous Navy SEAL whose sniper record made him the 'most lethal sniper' in US military history. Kyle claims to have 255 kills, with 160 confirmed by military logs.

According to his autobiography, Kyle served four Iraq tours and became a decorated sniper because of his ability to take down the enemy.

Kyle received two Silver Star medals, five Bronze Star medals and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal.

Kyle was also awarded the Grateful Nation Award by the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.

According to Kyle, he was often referred to by the Iraqi as the 'Devil of Ramadi' due to the results bore by his military skills. Kyle also mentioned that there was a time when the enemy has put bounty on his head just to stop him from performing his duties as a sniper.

The movie is directed by Clint Eastwood, after Steven Spielberg and David O. Russell dropped out of helming the project.

American Sniper will be shown in a limited release on December 25, 2014, with a worldwide release date on January 16, 2015.
