The fifth season of the horror anthology program 'American Horror Story' is shaping up to be a good one. Following the departure of lead actress Jessica Lange, the upcoming season entitled "Hotel" will attempt to reinvent the show once again by bringing in a whole new set of characters. Newcomers Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson have been confirmed to be the new series leads, though details regarding their roles are still murky at this point in time.

Joining Bomer and Jackson are returning actors Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, and Kathy Bates. Rounding out the returnees are Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, whose returns were announced by series creator Ryan Murphy just this month.

Speaking about the new additions, Murphy teased Peter's return by posting the tweet "This season, Evan Peters will be waiting for you in Room 64" at his official Twitter account. From the looks of things, it appears that Peters will play a particularly fearsome antagonist in "Hotel". As for Paulson, Murphy tweeted, "Sarah Paulson is checking into "Hotel". And this season she's the baddest bad girl of them all.

While the latest casting updates are welcome news to fans of the show, more details regarding "Hotel's" themes and plot should emerge as production steps up this coming summer. Murphy and company are no doubt hard at work in developing the challenging new season given the casting overhauls.

While the additions of Bomer and Jackson are still an uncertain variable, the returns of previous guest stars comfortable with how the show works should help bring an added sense of relief for the entire production and casting crew. Whatever the case, the upcoming season should be an interesting one for all those involved.

'American Horror Story: Hotel' will air this coming October at the FX Network.
