Anglican churches in Ireland and West Africa have recently elected new primates.
On September 30, The Most Rev Dr. Richard Clark, 63, Bishop of Meath and Kildare was elected Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland by the House of Bishops of the Church of Ireland, the United Dioceses of Dublin & Gendalough reported.
On September 28, the Anglican Church of the Province of West Africa elected Rt. Rev. Dr. Solomon Tilewa Johnson, 58, as its Archbishop and Primate, according to the Anglican Communion News Service.
The Province covers 15 sees in West Africa spread throughout the nations of Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
