'Ant-Man' news: Kevin Feige not sure there will be a sequel

The next few years seem to have been already monopolized by Marvel, at least when it comes to film adaptations. Not only is the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" scheduled to premiere in 2017, but fans are also looking forward to the brand new "Spiderman" movie and "Captain America: Civil War." However, arguably one of the movies most anticipated by fans is "Ant-Man's" sequel.

Despite audiences being sure that an "Ant-Man 2" is already in the bag, neither the studios nor Marvel has confirmed that they would be developing another adaptation for the franchise. Even Kevin Feige, a man instrumental in making 2015's "Ant-Man" movie a reality, is unsure whether or not the series would be picked it up for more theatrical releases.

"The answer is I don't really know. We're entering a territory that's an incredible problem to have, which is too many franchises to navigate. That's a very high class problem and if we are faced with that high class problem, we will try to find a solution for such problem," he said.

However, there are already troves of plot rumors for the tentative "Ant-Man 2." Some reports claim that the Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp, played by Evangeline Lily, would be part of the unconfirmed movie and would have a major role together with Ant-Man himself.

In the last few sequences of part one, it could be recalled that Hope's father, Hank Pym, showed her The Wasp suit. She smiled and uttered the very cryptic, "It's about time." Therefore, fans are sure that there is really something to expect from The Wasp.

Still, others speculate on the villains and enemies who could be featured in the possible sequel. Some fans expect that Black Ant aka Eric O'Grady, who is a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent tasked to to watch over Pym's Tech, would be the main villain in "Ant-Man 2."

Since the sequel for "Ant-Man" has yet to be decided on, the release date for part two also remains a mystery. Should the movie be ordered, however, its expected release date will be on 2020.
