Apple iOS 10.0.3 update: Company rolls out connectivity fix for iPhone 7 series on Verizon

(Apple)The latest iOS 10.0.3 update caters to Verizon customers exclusively on the iPhone 7 series.

Apple recently released the iOS 10.0.3 update. And while it may seem like the company is rolling out updates left and right, this particular one is only targeted toward iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users who are on Verizon.

According to Apple Insider, people on the Verizon network have complained about connectivity issues after switching to Apple's latest smartphone offering, the iPhone 7 series. A dominant complaint was that LTE connectivity was not stable and would change to 3G or 2G seemingly at random, without any explanation.

The latest 10.0.3 iOS update will address this error. According to its description, "iOS 10.0.3 fixes bugs including an issue where some users could temporarily lose cellular connectivity." And according to Apple's support page, the iOS 10.0.3 update has the same security content as the previous 10.0.2 update.

According to Forbes, though, some users are displeased with the company's latest rollout because of its limited scope. Not only is it exclusively available on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, only Verizon customers seem to benefit from it. There have been some cases of the same issue experienced by AT&T users. However, it has been said that it is not as widespread as Verizon's.

Verizon customers on the iPhone 7 lineup seem to be satisfied with the update, though, as evidenced by their reviews. And while the fix is only available on the iPhone 7 series, there are also customers who have complained about similar problems on the iPhone 6 lineup. It remains to be seen if Apple will soon address these issues.

As for the upcoming iOS 10.1, the Cupertino-based tech giant is said to be in the middle of developing the update. Beta testing has already begun and versions of the update have been rolled out to developers and the general public as well.

The iOS 10.0.3 update is now available for installation. The update should automatically download, but if it doesn't, users can go to their Settings > General > Software Update.
