iOS 8.3 jailbreak: iOS 8.4 release could see jailbreak for current version

The release of the third beta version of iOS 8.4 on May 11 is speculated to be the last beta version to be made available before its official launch. This news comes in the light of the fast approaching Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) conference to be held on June 8 where Apple is rumoured to announce the release dates for both iOS 8.4 and iOS 9.

The latest software beta update mostly features improvements in the Apple Music App. This might be due to Apple reportedly creating a music streaming service directly in competition with Spotify, particularly after the Cupertino tech giant recently acquired Beats Music.

The beta, while not directly referencing the upcoming streaming service, features a cleaner look, a mini player, an updated playlist functionality and a more accessible iTunes.

With June 8 fast approaching, the jailbreaking community is excited about the upcoming release of iOS 8.4, as it could not only lead to a jailbreak for the current version, but also for previously uncracked software updates, like the infamous iOS8.3.

The latest jailbroken software, iOS8.2 beta, which was released in November last year by TAiG, was the last known and successful launch of a jailbreak. While there have been a handful of rumored jailbreaks, like the video by hacker "i0n1c" showing an iPhone running Cydia on iOS8.3, none of them have been confirmed and distributed.

Until the upcoming conference, all jailbreaking work appears to have come to a halt. Apple users who have jailbroken phones have been advised to stick to the current version they have until a working crack is available.

The WWDC will be held on June 8- 12 in San Francisco.
