Although there is still no official word from Apple at this point in time, rumors and speculations saying that the Apple Watch 2 will be available around the holidays this year are becoming more persistent.

There have been a lot of talks saying that Apple is set to launch the Apple Watch 2 this fall, and, it is believed that it is likely the case as the company is known for announcing its product line in time for the holiday season. Because of this, it is suspected that the Apple Watch 2 will be released along with the iPhone 7, which is just as highly anticipated.

However, even before the Apple Watch 2 is launched, there are already various rumors and speculations as to what it may offer as its alleged specs and features have popped online. According to Know Your Mobile, the upcoming Apple Watch 2 will come with a barometer that will help its users measure altitude. If this rumor turns out to be true, there is no denying that the upcoming device will be of great help to fitness enthusiasts, especially those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking or biking in the mountains or hills.

It is also said that the Apple Watch 2 will come with its own GPS chip that will enable it to track locations without depending on an iPhone that it is paired with. With this feature, a would-be user of the Apple Watch 2 will be able to use of the feature functioning on its own in terms of mapping and no longer rely on an iPhone, which is the case of the current Apple Watch.

Better waterproofing is also another rumored feature of the Apple Watch 2. While it's true that users of the current Apple Watch can take a shower with the device strapped around their wrists, the Apple Watch 2 is alleged to be capable of withstanding underwater conditions, which means a user can use it even if he swims.

Allegedly, the upcoming device is also capable of monitoring blood pressure and blood oxygen. These features are said to be part of the original Apple Watch but were scrapped because Apple could not perfect them at that time. However, if this allegation is true, it can be said that Apple has already perfected the said features with the device's additional sensors.

Exciting as the features of the Apple Watch may be, one must bear in mind that everything is just a speculation at this point and time and can only be confirmed once the Apple Watch 2 is released, hopefully, this autumn, indeed.
