Archbishop of Wales to Be Honored, Give Lecture at New York Cathedral

The Archbishop of Wales Dr. Barry Morgan will be honored on Wednesday at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City where he will also deliver the annual Hobart Lecture on pastoral ministry.

Morgan will be seated on the International Cathedra at 10:30AM tomorrow in honor of his visitation to the venue. Previous participants in the ceremony include former Archbishop of Canterbury, the Rt. Rev George Carey, and Bishop of London, the Rt. Rev Richard Chartres.

Morgan's deliverance of the Hobart Lecture, annually sponsored by the Diocese of New York, follows last year's speech from Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church Katharine Jefferts Schori.

"We look forward enormously to welcoming Dr Morgan to New York," said the Rt. Rev. Mark Sisk, Bishop of New York. "He is a splendid speaker and an outstanding model of pastoral depth and leadership. His lecture will, undoubtedly, be one of the highlights of our year."
