'Arrow/Flash' spinoff show news and spoilers: Franz Drameh to play former high school athlete, show may be called 'Legends'

The "Arrow/Flash" spin-off series is certainly something all DC comic book fans, "The Flash" followers and "Arrow" viewers should look forward to. Not only is the line-up of superheroes interesting, it provides vast opportunities for intriguing story arcs.

The last and latest cast member of join the series is actor Franz Drameh of "Edge of Tomorrow" fame, reports TVLine. The English actor is set to play the role of Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete whose professional career is squashed by a sudden injury. The tragedy costs his career and Jackson ends up working as an auto-mechanic in order to make ends meet. He will surprising acquire powers and be a part of the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.

CW has provided no information of Jay's superhero alter-ego but has dubbed him as a mystery hero. The character's description says that he is a regular, street-smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers and then, as a part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations. TVLine speculates that his character may be Static, Black Lightning or Black Vulcan.

While CW has yet to provide a title for the spin-off, IGN reports it may be or involves the word "Legends". Actor John Wesley Shipp, who played the original Flash in the 1980s, casually referred to the spin-off series as "Legends" during an interview. DC comic book fans know all too well that the same name corresponds to a limited series of DC comics published in 1986. It is also speculated that the title of the show could be "Legends Of Tomorrow". The spin-off is ready to take off as casting comes to a close.

Apart from Drameh, the "Arrow/Flash" spin-off show also stars Arthur Darvill as time traveler Rip Hunter, Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer aka the Atom, Caity Lotz as Sarah aka the Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory aka Heat Wave and Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein aka half of Firestorm.
