Asus ZenFone Selfie: ZenFone 2's selfie-focused version with dual 13 MP cameras to be launched at Computex 2015 next week

Even as all the hype over the ZenFone 2 has hardly settled down, ASUS is now rumored to be getting ready to launch its selfie-focused version, dubbed the ZenFone Selfie at an event to be held in Taipei starting next week. Earlier this year, ASUS had unveiled the much-delayed ZenFone Zoom, an interesting photography-centered smartphone, though the company will now release the ZenFone Selfie first.

The ZenFone 2 series has several variants with a display size ranging between 5-inch and 5.5-inch and 2GB to 4GB RAM, with the 5.5" 1080p and 4 GB RAM model being the most sought after variant. According to reports, the ZenFone Selfie will come with exactly the same specifications as the ZenFone 2, except for the cameras.

The ZenFone Selfie will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch display, but sport a 13MP front-facing camera with autofocus, dual tone LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording capability, as compared to a 5MP front-facing camera in the ZenFone 2. The ZenFone Selfie will also pack a 13MP rear camera with laser focus, dual-tone LED flash and video recording.

Meanwhile, ASUS has also more or less confirmed via a Facebook post that it will be announcing "a new ZenFone family member" at Computex 2015 that will be a selfie-centric smartphone. ASUS has posted an image of its upcoming ZenFone Selfie on Facebook with the message "Illuminate the beauty that's in You through the front camera of the ZenFone".

ASUS is set to unveil the ZenFone Selfie at the upcoming Computex 2015 to be held at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) in Taiwan between June 2-6. Apart from the ZenFone Selfie, the Taiwanese tech firm is also expected to launch ZenPad tablets at the events. So stay tuned for all the news, announcements and developments at the upcoming Computex 2015 next week.
