Rumors about upcoming tablets have been proliferating in the market and these have set off an amount of speculation among analysts. Along with these rumors, there is a lot of anticipation around the cheaper tablets which are set to arrive and there are indications that one among these, the Asus ZenPad Z8, is going to appear at Verizon shortly.

The news about this particular tablet arrived via the tipster Evan Blass who stated on his Twitter account that it would have an 8-inch display. He also made it clear that it would be offered to customers in the United States via the carrier Verizon. However, when devices are created for a carrier, they are usually exclusive offerings and this appears to be true in the case of the Asus ZenPad Z8.

As for the other specs that were revealed by Blass, they point toward the device coming with a mid-range chipset. This particular chipset is thought to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 version and it is coupled with a hexa-core CPU. The display on the device is thought to have a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels which PhoneArena states would make it similar to that of the Apple's iPad mini 4. More importantly, the RAM on the device is not very much and is pegged at 2 GB, while for storage, there is 16 GB onboard. However, users do not have to worry about the bare minimum storage onboard the device because it is expected to have a microSD slot and so external storage can be tacked on. Also, the Asus ZenPad Z8 is thought to have LTE included and going by the specs, it could be mid-range model with a budget price.

According to the rumor about the Asus ZenPad Z8, it will have an 8-megapixel camera at its rear and a 1.8-megapixel version at the front. More importantly, Asus just refreshed its ZenFone 3 smartphone lineup and it is thought that the company will be announcing the Asus ZenPad Z8 shortly thereafter.
