Produced by IG Port's Wit Studio, the first season has already covered the first 34 chapters of the manga, which is now already into chapter 69, as of the time of writing this. The manga is now ahead of the anime by two story arcs, which will probably be the focus of season two. The first season covered four story arcs, "The Fall of Shiganshina", "104th Trainees Squad", "Battle of Trost District" and "The Female Titan."

For season two, the anime will cover the "Clash of Titans" arc, where the 104th Trainees Squad battles a group of Titans that suddenly appear inside the wall. The next season will also probably cover the current manga story arc, "The Uprising", where Erwin Smith plots to overthrow the government after the King knowingly endangers humanity.

"Attack on Titan" is a story set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by three enormous walls as a defense against the Titans—gigantic humanoid creatures who eat humans seemingly without reason. The story is centered around Eren Yeager, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert, who join the military to fight the Titans after their home town is invaded and Eren's mother is eaten. As the story progresses, Eren develops amazing abilities and mysteries regarding the Titan's origins are uncovered.

Two live action films based on the original story will be released on August 1 and September 19 of this year, "Attack on Titan" and "Attack on Titan: End of the World."
