There is still no word from the producers of "Attack on Titan" season 2 on its official release date. However, new details about its plot have surfaced.

Because the game for "Attack on Titan" was announced to come out this February, a lot of fans also expected that the second season of its anime counterpart will be released alongside it. However, it is already near mid-February and no word has still been said regarding its release. Reports have suggested that based on the lack of announcements, it is unlikely to come out this month.

The wait is not as bad as what most would think though; there are new details that have been revealed on Ymir's story.

According to reports, series creator Hajime Isayama revealed that the second season of the anime will show more of Ymir's story since she only had a little bit of exposure in the previous installment. In the first season, Ymir was introduced to have regained her human form after spending about 60 years as a Titan.

However, it should not be disregarded that she had an important role in the "Shingeki no Kyojin" manga series.

Isayama has revealed in an issue of "Gekkan Shingeki no Kyojin"" that Ymir has the "ultimate conclusion" of the entire manga since the past and present plotlines of the series lies on the progression of her story, Yibada reports.

Yibada also highlighted that Ymir's story could be pointed out to the fact that her name is from the Norse mythology. Ymir in the North Germanic mythology is the father of Nordic giants and gods including Odin. After his death, his fleshed was used to build the cosmos.

Based on the mentioned connections, it is possible that Ymir has a link to the history of the Titans or their proliferation in the world.

It is interesting to see how Ymir's story will sew together the entire series in the upcoming "Attack on Titans" season 2.
