'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date, plot, rumors: Anime to fuse manga's 'Clash of the Titans' and 'Uprising' arcs

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is rumored to fuse "Clash of the Titans" and "Uprising" story arcs from the manga.

There is still no official statement as to when "Attack on Titan" season 2 will be aired, but fans continue to speculate as to what its season 2 plot may be. After it was reported some months back that the anime series will reveal the real identity of Krista, the latest in the rumor mill is that "Attack on Titan" season 2 may fuse two story arcs in the manga as the whole plot for its season 3.

According to reports, "Attack on Titan" season 3 will fuse the two story arcs featured in the manga: "Clash of the Titans" and the "Uprising."

The inclusion of the "Clash of the Titans" story arc in the anime's season 2 is heavily suspected as Colossus Titan appears in the promotional poster of the anime. In the said poster, Colossus Titan is seen trying to break into the walls while Eren, Armin, and Mikasa anticipate fighting another Titan.

On the other hand, "Uprising" is the manga that features the murder of Minister Nick and the attempted abduction of Eren and Historia.

It has been learned that "Clash of the Titans" has 15 chapters, while "Uprising" has 36. In the event that the rumors claiming that the said story arcs are the materials used for "Attack on Titan" season 2, fans believe that the anime will have no shortage of resource materials.

However, there are also rumors claiming that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will somehow deviate from the story of its manga counterpart as it is customary for the print version to be, at least, four arcs ahead of the anime. With this, it is expected that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will come up with filler episodes that may deviate away from the storyline of its manga counterpart.

At this point in time, though, everything is just a speculation that must be taken with a grain of salt as no official statement has been released.

"Attack of Titan" season 2 is rumored to arrive in April next year.
