'Attack on Titan' season 2 rumors: Eren and Beast Titan are half-brothers

(Facebook/Shingeki no Kyogin)Rumors claim that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will reveal that Zeke and Eren are half-brothers.

While "Attack on Titan" season 2 is not slated to arrive earlier than 2016, there are already various speculations as to how its story may pan out. The latest in the rumor mill is that the upcoming season of the highly anticipated anime will reveal that Eren actually has a titan half-brother: Zeke.

There is no denying that "Attack on Titan" is one of the most popular stories among manga and anime aficionados. In fact, the manga version of the story is still one of the most-purchased books from the stores today. While it's true that it was thought that the anime version of the story would be canceled after its first season, it has already been confirmed that "Attack on Titan" season 2 is finally happening, and is slated to arrive in spring next year — thanks to the clamor of its fans.

As of this writing, no one outside the production of "Attack on Titan" really knows how things may turn out in the anime's season 2. Earlier, it was rumored that the anime series will usher in a new titan in the series in its upcoming season, the Beast Titan Zeke. However, lately, there are unconfirmed reports that started surfacing online, claiming that Zeke is actually the half-brother of Eren.

To recall, while Eren vows to protect the residents inside the walls against the human-eating titans, it was revealed that he himself is capable of shape-shifting into a titan. Allegedly, it was no less than his father, Dr. Yeager, who turned him into one after injecting him with a serum that is suspected to be the culprit for the existence of the titans.

In contrast to other titans, Eren is a smart and thinking one that protects the people from the harmful giants. However, it is also said that Zeke will be better than Eren in terms of strength and processes thoughts even if he is already in his titan form.

With Eren discovering that Zeke is the Beast Titan, it goes without saying that a clash between the two is inevitable. The question is: Who will emerge as the victor if this really happens on "Attack on Titan" season 2?

Find out when "Attack on Titan" season 2 begins airing in spring 2017.
