The Ferrari and the Mercedes are considered the cream of the crop, with most car companies finding the idea of competing against the two daunting. But Audi's new vehicle, the Audi S8 Plus, appears to be ready to take them on.

The recently introduced Audi S8 Plus is a full-sized sedan that offers drivers remarkable top speed, sumptuous interiors and an economical fuel system at an affordable price. Audi is confident that the S8 Plus' array of features could go head to head with the Ferrari F40 and the Mercedes AMG S63.

The Audi S8 Plus has a steady 4-liter V8 engine that boasts of a twin turbo design guaranteed for maximum horsepower and torque. The vehicle uses the same engine design as the one carried by the original S8 model but modified to increase the S8 Plus's power. The company was able to achieve this thanks to the Vmax bundle, which is touted to have a groundbreaking carbon ceramic braking system paired with a Quattro fettled exhaust.

Audi's designers and engineers have endeavored to upgrade the brand's image so that it combines the luxury that's often associated with a Mercedes with the speed Ferrari is known for. With the Audi S8 Plus, the top speed, acceleration and torque levels offered will be more than enough to capture the interest of those who prefer sports cars.

The S8 Plus can reach 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 190 miles per hour. It's really quite an accomplishment considering the car is using the regular V8 engine.

Car lovers can go for a classy silver colored variation of the Audi S8 Plus or choose the more enigmatic matte black exterior. Both variants have interiors that come with the Arras Red seat piping.

Audi's new flagship vehicle will be launched in Germany next year and will then be made available to other car enthusiasts around the world. The S8 Plus will cost around $162,000 but consumers opting to avail of other features should expect a price bump.
