'Avengers: Infinity War' cast news, release date: Alien extras, Brie Larson to appear; Tom Holland's Spider-Man a no-show

(Facebook/avengers)"Avengers: Infinity War" will premiere in 2018.

Everyone's excited for the upcoming "Avengers" sequel. Not only will it be a visual treat but it will also bring together some of Marvel's most popular superheroes. And with Earth's mightiest heroes on track to face Thanos, the upcoming film will naturally need alien extras.

Thanos is the supervillain that has been teased for a long time — since the very beginning, in fact. And now that he's due to finally take center stage, he's going to need some backup. Project Casting has put out a casting call for alien extras for the upcoming superhero ensemble film.

"Producers are looking for men and women, all ethnicities, who appear 18–50's, who are TALL with a SLENDER or athletic build. MUST be comfortable being PAINTED," the notice reads.

Moreover, extras should be "willing to have prosthetics applied to their face, in addition to being painted." Of course, the aliens aren't necessarily evil. It remains to be seen how they will factor into the story of "Avengers: Infinity War," but fans are undoubtedly eager to find out.

Pre-production has already commenced in Atlanta, Georgia, with full-on filming set to take place in January 2017.

As for the actors and actresses who will take part in the sequel, many fans have debated which characters will be included and which ones will have to sit this film out. And if a separate casting call from moviecastingcall.org is to be believed, then Tom Holland's Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, will not be appearing in the movie.

The listing states that the upcoming film will star Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Evans (Captain America), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Benedict Wong (Wong), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Paul Bettany (Vision), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), and of course, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man).

A notable new addition is Brie Larson, who will play Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers. Larson is set to debut in "Avengers: Infinity War" before her first solo outing in 2019. As for Spider-Man, fans need not worry because Holland will reprise his role in his own upcoming movie, "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which is set to bow on July 7, 2017.

"Avengers: Infinity War" will be released on May 4, 2018.
