'Avengers: Infinity War' spoilers: Thanos wants to rebalance the universe

(Facebook/Guardians of the Galaxy)Thanos wants to rebalance the universe in "Avengers: Infinity War."

After it was revealed last week that "Avengers: Infinity War" will cast the spotlight on Thanos (Josh Brolin) instead of the Avengers in the movie, the latest reports suggest that everything Thanos will do in the upcoming "Avengers" movie stems from his desire to balance the universe.

According to reports, "Avengers: Infinity War" co-writer Stephen McFeely has revealed in the recently released digital copy of "Doctor Strange" what fans can expect from Thanos in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie. While his statement in the said accompanying video of "Doctor Strange" is vague, it is now revealed that Thanos may not be that so bad at all as he only wants to correct what he deems wrong.

"His goal is to re-balance the universe as he sees it. So, when he figures out that the Infinity Stones could do this for him at the snap of a finger, that becomes his main goal," McFeely said in the video.

Sources suspects, though, that "Avengers: Infinity War" may also feature Mistress Death in the movie as the character is vital to the story in the comic book's "Gauntlet" story arc. In the said story arc, Thanos becomes obsessed with Mistress Death, who is the personified version of death. As Thanos wants to impress Mistress Death, he wipes out the vast majority of the Marvel universe after assembling all the Infinity Stones.

However, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) does not always stay true to the events on the pages of its comic book counterparts, it remains to be seen if Mistress Death will be Thanos' motivation for gathering all the Infinity Stones and destroying the universe he deems as unbalanced.

Whether Mistress Death will be in "Avengers: Infinity War" or not, one thing is for sure, though: The upcoming Marvel Studio movie will give fans a deeper understanding of what Thanos is capable of and the dynamics of his moves. After all, it was no less than Marvel Studios big boss Kevin Feige who revealed that "Avengers: Infinity War" will cast the spotlight on Thanos rather than the Marvel superheroes.

"Thanos in 'Infinity War' is – in a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character, and that's a bit of a departure from what we've done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called Infinity War," Feige revealed recently.
