'Bates Motel' season 4 spoilers: Norman becomes full blown psycho; Focus to be on Emma's lung transplant, relationship with Dylan put to the test

"Bates Motel" season three's spectacular finale delivered a slew of action-packed and emotional scenes, some of which were being built by producers over the entire season. Emma and Dylan finally kissed, while Norman went completely over to the dark side and killed Bradley. Shockingly, Norma and Norman kissed. What lies ahead for the dynamic and completely-off-the-rails mother-son duo?

More Dylemma

Fans cheering for a Dylan-Emma romance are in for a treat. In season four, viewers are guaranteed more romance between the two lovers. In an interview with Zap2It, showrunners Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin made it clear that there was more story between these two lovers that would be explored in season four.

However, fans of "Bates Motel" know that Emma's impending lung transplant could go wrong. Last season, Dylan illegally acquired the money for the transplant and urged Emma to take it. The romantic pair shared a kiss before Emma went off to the hospital to have her transplant surgery.

Cuse mused, "Will the surgery be successful, and how will it change her life? The problem is lung transplants are incredibly tricky things. They're really important to the people who get them, but they also don't always work. Is it possible that she's cured, or does she have a brief window where things are a lot better and things will get worse?"

Season four will concentrate on their relationship and the aftermath of the transplant. The pair will be sorely tested in the episodes to come.

Norman cross-dresses and turns into a full-blown psycho

Norman has finally turned into a complete psycho, according to Ehrin, while speaking to TVLine in an interview. His mental disorder has taken him to the deep end and Bradley's killing proves it. Ehrin confirmed that there would be more cross-dressing scenes for Norman, as he dons his mother's clothing and hallucinates. Bradley's burial at sea and Norma becoming aware of his dark side indicates that he has become the Norman Bates that viewers have know him for from Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho".

A premiere date is yet to be set for season four of A & E's "Bates Motel".
