Rocksteady Games has announced that the Batman: Arkham Knight release date is pushed back to June 2, 2015, from its original October launch.

"Batman: Arkham Knight is officially released on June 2nd 2015 - head to http://www.batmanarkhamknight.com/#preorder  to reserve your copy," the official Batman Arkham Twitter account announced on Sept. 9.

Batman: Arkham Knight is five times bigger than its predecessor, Arkham City.

In an interview with IGN, Marketing Manager Guy Perkins provided insights on their decision to recreate the expanse and evolve the linear gameplay and storyline in Batman: Arkham Knight.

"The narrative is still very defined, though, there's definite acts that you clearly understand as you go through Arkham Knight. We've been conscious to create a rich story that's interesting for newcomers and for fans alike. You can go off and do your side quests when you like, but it's still a linear story in the sense that it has a beginning, middle and end," Perkins said.

With the demise of Joker in the Arkham City, another villain will arise for Arkham Knight – Scarecrow.

Scarecrow had some iconic moments during the prequel, but this time around, he will suit up as Big Bad and will use fear as his weapon of choice.

Rocksteady Games also takes pride in the stunning Batmobile exclusively crafted for the Arkham Knight.

"Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady's uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City," Rocksteady's game description stated.

Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for a release date on Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC.

Those who pre-order the game will receive the playable Harley Quinn DLC together with weapons, gadgets and abilities, and four exclusive challenge maps.
