Arguably, one of the most anticipated movies of 2016, comic book fans are expecting a lot from the latest "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie. With two loved superheroes and more villains to battle, what's not to love and look forward to? Spoilers, rumors and ample speculations are keeping fans on their toes with ample guesswork with what the movie's plotline may be.

The last "Superman" movie saw Superman snapping General Zod's (Mike Shannon) neck, leading to the death of the villain. Or did he really die? Spoilers by Science Fiction suggest he may not be dead after all. Apparently, Lexcorp will somehow get his hands on Zod's boy in order to experiment with it and find Superman's weakness. It is unclear if he steals it or acquires it through government contracts.

However, while experimenting he unlocks "the doomsday genome" leading to Zod becoming the murderous monster, Doomsday. Comic book fans will remember that Doomsday is the monster and villain that leads to the death of Superman. While the super-hero does manage to kill him but not before giving up his life in the process.

Screenrant speculates that there may be some truth to the rumor as Mike Shannon was seen hanging out on the set in Chicago in November 2014 during its production. Directed by Zack Snyder, the movie may have a different version of the super-villain. Doomsday is reported to have Zod as a sentient host and use genetic manipulation to create the feared villain. The movie will also see Hollywood's best acting talent brace the screen with actors like Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot.

Comic book and movie fans can expect a lot if Doomsday really is the villain. Will Superman really die? Will the greatest villain in Superman history live up to fans' expectations? "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 25, 2016.
