Drug kingpin Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) has been confirmed to be butting heads with Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) in the upcoming season of "Better Call Saul."

Odenkirk affirmed in his recent interview (as per Time) that the "Breaking Bad" iconic character would appear in season 3 of the AMC series. Fring, the notorious leader of a drug syndicate and proprietor of the Los Pollos Hermanos restaurants, was last seen in "Breaking Bad" at the end of its season 4. He was thought to have been killed when a bomb set up by Tio Salamanca (Mark Margolis) blew up.

There have been various speculations about Esposito's character appearing in the spinoff. Aside from Fring, other characters rumored to joining McGill's world are Aaron Paul's Jesse and Betsy Brandt's Marie Schrader.

"I'm looking for him. He's coming back. They didn't think everyone would scrutinize the show that closely, and they did it, and the cats out of the bag. So I imagine he'll be in the first moment. That's what I...Let's go. Let's get to it, right?" Odendirk teased in the interview.

Meanwhile, Fring's return may mean a reunion with his former meth cook, Walter White (Bryan Cranston). Cranston previously teased that he was a big fan of "Better Call Saul" and would definitely want to guest star if he was invited. Watching both Fring and White on screen would be a treat for the fans of the two AMC programs.

Of course, this does not bode well for Jimmy. Odendirk recently hinted to The Wrap that season 3 would see Jimmy's transformation to the vindictive Saul Goodman.

According to the actor, the new installment would be about "innocence getting torn away." Jimmy has taken the persona of Saul, as he is done pretending to be someone he is not. Odendirk said that viewers could look forward to explosive events in the new episodes. It looks like good old Jimmy has had enough of his brother Chuck's (Michael McKean) accusations.

AMC has yet to announce the official premiere date of "Better Call Saul" season 3, but the series is expected to return sometime in 2017.
