'Boruto: Naruto the Movie': brash new hero Boruto seen in new trailer

(Naruto Italian Forum)

The first trailer of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" has been released, and while the video is a short one running for merely 40 seconds, viewers can still get to see a good amount of content before a more comprehensive preview is released.

The video starts by recounting past events in the Naruto series, with the previous lead character Naruto characterized as a legendary hero who spread peace throughout the land. The short montage is rudely interrupted by Naruto's son Boruto, who claims that he will be a even bigger hero than his father. It's clear that Boruto will have a bit of a brash side to his character and it will be interesting to see just how this side of his personality develops.

Boruto's appearance is followed by a quick shot of Sasuke, who is described as a "master", and Sarada, who is described as a "rival". From the looks of things, Sasuke appears to be Boruto's master in the film, which should be an interesting twist, given the dynamics between Naruto and Sasuke in their younger days. The rivalry between Boruto and Sarada is another interesting development, but it will be even more interesting to see how it will differ from their parents' earlier rivalry.

Finally, the trailer ends with an action shot of Boruto performing an acrobatic flip and concludes with the titular hero flashing a confident grin. Overall, its a very fun teaser trailer that provides plenty of information to whet the fans' appetite. The trailer not only highlights the excellent transition into the new generation of Naruto characters, but also showcases the classic Naruto characters in interesting new roles.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" airs in Japan on August 7 this year. A North American release date is yet to be announced, but the movie is expected to be released sometime in October or November.
