'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' will get a zombies mode; more DLC details

(www.callofduty.com)'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' to come with a Zombies mode

One of the most-anticipated games of the year is the installment in the "Call of Duty" franchise. This year, the game is titled "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," and to add more thrill and heighten its anticipation, it is reported to come with a Zombies mode.

Reporting on the Zombies mode, Polygon states that it is the first time that it has been included in a game that is being created by Infinity Ward. Importantly, "Call of Duty" games are created by a number of studios and development duties are rotated among them.

However, previous "Call of Duty" games have had Zombies modes, which was first seen in "Call of Duty: World at War" that released in 2008. At that time, Treyarch, the developer of the "Black Ops" games, was the one responsible in the creation of the mode.

Importantly, the last time Infinity Ward was involved in a game in the franchise was with "Call of Duty: Ghosts," which only came with a cooperative multiplayer mode labeled as "Extinction." This mode allowed players to battle aliens, but zombies have proven to be more popular in other "Call of Duty" games and it is likely that Infinity Ward wants to bring this aspect into the upcoming game.

Also, Zombies mode usually brings in a lot of acting talent into the game and is one major reason that has contributed to the popularity of several "Call of Duty" games. Additionally, the sales of the gaming franchise have dipped over the years, and Activision could be looking to regain some of its lost glory with the release of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." Finally, in the upcoming game, players will be able to traverse the solar system as they fight off enemies, zombies, and more, and the setting in space is going to bring in a lot of unique challenges.

As for the DLC for the upcoming game, Sony has entered into an agreement with Activision and so players on the PS4 will be able to access DLC content a month before those using the Xbox One can access it.
