Many classic games from the golden age of consoles are now being remastered. One perfect example of this is the classic role-playing game "Final Fantasy 7," as well as the horror RPG "Resident Evil." And according to Game Spot, the most recent game that might get remastered is "Call of Duty."

Activision Publishing CEO, Eric Hirshberg, shared his opinion about the popularity of remasters in the market and hinted that they might also follow the trend for previous "Call of Duty" titles.

"If done well, I think [remasters] can be great," Hirshberg told Game Informer. "You talk about nostalgia, and people have such connection to the games they love from the last cycle. They want to see what it would look like if someone did it right for this cycle."

Hirshberg also said that the company does not want to work on a project that might compromise the development of their new and upcoming games. However, he is not against the idea of CoD being remastered, in fact, he would also like to see and play the remastered edition of their previous titles like the "Modern Warfare 1" or the first "Black Ops."

He remarked, "I would love to play Modern Warfare 1 or the original Black Ops. There's certainly a deep well there. No announcements, but it's something we talk about and think about a lot."

Activision has been very busy with the DLCs of "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" and with their latest addition and soon to be released "Black Ops 3." So a remaster of their previous IPs are unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Activision's upcoming release, the "Black Ops 3" is the third installment of the "Black Ops" series. It is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2015 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and on PC.
