Nathan Fillon is set to return for his lead role as Rick Castle in the upcoming 'Castle' Season 7, meaning that his character did survive the fiery car accident seen at the end of Season 6.

At the end of Season 6, Castle and Beckett are set to be married after overcoming obstacles in their relationship, but the burning car that Castle was found in obviously pushed the wedding a little bit farther down the line.

Fillon talked to TVLine about the fruition of the wedding, and suggested that it could happen early on in the next season, so as to not get the viewers "bored in the waiting."

"We made people wait a long time for these two characters to finally get together. Now that they are together, how much longer can we make people wait for the wedding, I think becomes my question. You don't want people to become bored in the waiting," Fillon said in the interview with TVLine.

During the recent 2014 Comic-Con in San Diego, another Castle star, Molly Quinn, appeared to talk about the future of her character, Alexis and her ill-fated relationship with another character, Pi.

"I really liked Pi, I thought people were going to really enjoy that! ... I don't think we get the response that we were wanting to get [from an Alexis love interest] ... I think fans want to see [Alexis] unencumbered maybe. I actually like that better. It's more fun for me to play off of what my character is going through versus what she is going through in a relationship, especially with [everything else that is going on] ... I don't think she is a very fun dater. She's a chess player," Quinn told in the Comic-Con interview, as reported by Cartermatt.
