Celebrities mourn the death of fashion icon Oscar de la Renta

The fashion and the entertainment industry broke into collective grief upon the news of Oscar de la Renta's death on Oct. 20 in Kent, Conn.

The designer has established himself as one of the most important names in high fashion, and has dressed countless A-list celebrities, politicians, royalties, and important figures in the world.

Stars used their social media accounts to express their sorrow over the celebrated designer's death, with photos of his creations that have stunned at several red carpet occasions over the past decades.

Former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and his wife, Hilary, expressed their condolences on their official website.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Oscar de la Renta," the Clintons wrote.

Singer Taylor Swift, through her Instagram account, posted a photo of herself wearing a gown designed by de la Renta.

"My all-time favorite designer has passed away. Oscar, it was an honor to wear your creations and to know you. In loving memory," said the pop star.

Model Karlie Kloss also used her Instagram account to mourn the death of de la Renta.

"The world lost one of the most extraordinary people that I have ever met. Thank you for helping me become the woman I am today and for always inspiring me to be better. There simply is no one else like you," said Kloss, as reported by ABC News.
