'Chicago Fire' season 3 spoilers: Romance blossoms for Casey with someone connected to Firehouse 51

(NBC)

There is absolutely no dearth of drama in NBC's "Chicago Fire" as characters in Firehouse 51 face daily problems. But many fans are wondering what happens to poor Casey, whose role is portrayed by handsome Australian-born actor Jesse Spencer, as he finally breaks-up from his on-again-off-again girlfriend Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund).

However, teary-eyed fans can wipe those tears, as a recent interview by Jesse Spencer with TVGuide reports that he will have "numerous" romantic interests in the future. There will be one blossoming romance in particular, that will be somehow connected to Firehouse 51. Spencer told TVGuide that, "There will be a person that he doesn't realize has a connection to the firehouse, which kind of makes it a bit controversial". He also told the website about his character, quoting "Casey is a really good guy, but when a good guy steps out and does the wrong thing, he can really get himself into big trouble". So working with his ex-fiancée will be the least of his troubles in the upcoming episodes.

Fashion & Style report that Shay's (Lauren German) sister will be coming to town and Otis and Cruz will be handling a new and intriguing roommate. Meanwhile, the Chief will continue to worry about his father's precarious condition.

Another TVGuide interview with "Chiacgo Fire" and "Chicago P.D" showrunner, Matt Olmstead, hints that there will be another "Chicago Fire", "Chicago P.D" and "Law & Order: SUV" crossover around episode 20. Previously, the crossover had made viewers excited and it was a success among fans and viewers of the three shows. He reportedly said that, "It's a real good one. Big swings, big stakes". Additionally, the storyline for this particular crossover will be more integrated and meshed together than the previous ones. Excited fans will have to wait till Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at 10 p.m. Eastern Time to finally see how Casey copes with a new romance.
