'Chicago Fire' season 5 episode 8 spoilers: Will Dawson lose Louie?

(Facebook/NBCChicagoFire)Dawson and Casey's lives may change in the next episode of "Chicago Fire."

Dawson (Monica Raymund) may end up losing baby Louie as her application for adoption encounters a huge problem in the upcoming episode of "Chicago Fire."

In the episode titled "One Hundred," the synopsis (as per CarterMatt) reveals that Dawson and Casey (Jesse Spencer) will finally submit an application to permanently adopt the little boy. Unfortunately, they will discover that it will not be as easy as they expect it to be. Lulled by the knowledge that Louie is doing well with them and that the court will have no trouble seeing this, Dawson will be disappointed to learn that she may end up losing him after all. It looks like the problem lies in the fact that she is a single mother since she and Casey are not married. Will this push the couple to jump the gun and tie the knot as quickly as possible?

The episode is going to be the 100th for the NBC series. There have been speculations that it will also mark a huge change in the "Dawsey" relationship. Some fans think that the showrunners will deliver a huge surprise that has something to do with a wedding.

Executive producer Matt Olmstead said in June that they were planning something big for the milestone but did not confirm that it would be about Dawson and Casey. He said, though, that the couple would not get married because of Louie's adoption. When the two finally tie the knot, it is because they both want it to happen.

"We're not averse to that. [However], it's not something that they would do 'shotgun-style' just to facilitate an adoption. They wouldn't do it just for appearances sake. If and when they do it, they'll do it because it's time. We want a big episode, for sure. There may be something big with Casey and Dawson. We're not going to treat it like just any episode," he explained to TVLine.

"Chicago Fire" season 5 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
