GOD TV co-founder Wendy Alec has admitted that her husband and ministry partner of over 20 years has left her for another woman.

South African-born Rory Alec has stepped down from his position as chairman and chief executive of God TV and left the running of the network to his wife Wendy, The Independent UK reported October 6.

Wendy was emotional as she confirmed her husband Rory had been having an affair with a divorced woman in Austria, Christian Today reported.

On October 2, Rory made a statement asking for forgiveness.

"After 20 years of service, I have had a moral failure this year. For this reason, I am stepping down, Alec wrote.

"Please forgive me for the disappointment I've caused, but I know your eyes are on Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith and not on me, an imperfect man. It is with a heavy heart that I confirm my season with GOD TV is over for now."

GOD TV FOUNDED IN 1995

Wendy and Rory Alec founded the GOD TV in Britain in 1995.

It is a broadcasting network that transmits faith-based programs worldwide.

In the live broadcast, Wendy Alec revealed that her world turned upside down when Rory asked for some "space."

"The devil got in very, very easily," said Wendy.

At first, Rory asked her to keep quiet for the sake of the ministry and the staff. But then she felt manipulated and intimidated.

The board of GOD TV asked Rory Alec to go through counselling because they thought he might be suffering from burnout but he refused.

Wendy said Rory had gone too far even though the board talked to him. He said that "he won't be controlled" and then packed his bags and went to Austria.

"I've got absolute trust in my Father God. He is beautiful and He is always good. I have absolute faith in incredible restoration and incredible restitution in our lives ahead," she said.

Board member Canon Andrew White said that God is not finished with GOD TV and that He is still going to do wonderful things through the channel.

Bill Johnson, senior pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, California, asked people to intercede for GOD TV and the couple.

"They're in a place of real need right now...this is the worst time for us to pull away from these friends of ours," he said.

Rory Alec reportedly now stays in South Africa and does not want to be involved in the ministry anymore.

"He doesn't want restoration...he doesn't want anything to do with it. He wants a new life," Wendy said.
