Christopher Nolan and actor Matthew McConaughey surprised attendees of San Diego's Comic-Con 2014 on Thursday when they showed up for a surprise appearance to reveal a new trailer for the highly-anticipated space spectacle, "Interstellar."

Much hype about the upcoming outer space-themed movie, Interstellar, has been buzzing since late 2013, and now that the film is nearing its release, fans cannot wait to get details about the Christopher Nolan-directed flick.

The director surprisingly appeared on the Thursday panel of San Diego's Comic-Con with actor Matthew McConaughey, who plays a huge role in the movie.

"I can tell you a lot, but I'm not going to," said McConaughey to Comic-Con attendees, teasing a little bit about some spoilers. McConaughey plays an engineer and a pilot whose dreams of reaching outer space halted because all space explorations have been terminated.

"It's by far the most ambitious film Mr Nolan has ever directed," added the actor while speaking before the crowd and the director, who is also responsible for such blockbuster hits as Inception and The Dark Knight.

The 43-year-old filmmaker is a self-proclaimed science fiction fan, with a fascination for space travel ever since he was a little boy.

"Growing up when I did, the idea of a journey that would take you not just through the solar system, not just through this galaxy but into a whole other galaxy, that's as big a journey you can try to imagine telling on film," said Nolan, pertaining to his future blockbuster, during the same Comic-Con 2014 appearance.
