"Clash of Clans," the mega-popular mobile game from Supercell, has received the first game update for 2016. The "Clash of Clans" January Update released just a few days ago comes with changes that rectify some of the problems that appeared during the December Update, specifically with regard to the looting situation.

With the introduction of the Treasury, players will now have a secure bank inside their castles that will keep their loot safe from invaders. The Treasury will protect loot obtained from Clan Wars and Star Bonuses. They will be kept safe up until the player is ready to spend their loot. The Treasury's capacity is also determined by the player's Town Hall and Clan Perks status.

Supercell has also introduced Loot Carts, which will appear in the players' villages every after defense. When collected, the Loot Carts will allow the player to recover up to 20 percent of resources lost during defenses. The Loot Cart appears randomly and only once so players should be quick to collect it. There should also be adequate space in storage, or else, the Loot Cart cannot be collected.

The January Update also introduced the Star Bonus loot. Players will be able to gain Star Bonus each day when they play in multiplayer mode. As their level increases, players will also obtain higher rewards and gains. When in multiplayer mode, players who receive five stars will also be able to earn additional bonus loot. The Star Bonus loot will also be safeguarded in the Treasury.

Finally, the "Clash of Clans" January Update also came with a few big fixes. Supercell has fixed instances of Skeletons getting stuck in the walls, instances of multiple Dark Spells being donated, and lags in the players' upgrade status.

Soon after the release of the January Update, Supercell also conducted a Maintenance Break to further correct bugs and issues that first appeared with the latest game update.

"Clash of Clans" is free to play for the iOS and Android mobile devices.
